Service Work with SUPW products

As part of SUPW, the product we prepared were soaps for the service work. For that, we selected some needy students from the near school and organized a program on 29 November 2019. I welcomed the students, teachers, and my friends to the program. Riju sir, Leena miss, Sivapriya miss, and Thushara miss distributed the soap to students. While giving the soap to them, we saw the smiling faces. It was an unforgettable moment to inspire us to do something more for the needy people in the society.

Social Visit to CSI VHS for Deaf School, Valakom

As per the B.Ed curriculum, we had the opportunity to visit CSI VHS for Deaf School, Valakom on 28 November 2019. We were welcomed by Mrs. Suma, Headmistress of the school. She gave a brief history of the school. After that, Mr. Paul Thomass, faulty of the school, gave an informative talk on deaf and dumb education. Then we got the opportunity to mingle with students. After class observation, Mr. John, faulty of the Malayalam dept, has taken a demo class for us. The way he presented the idea, different methods he used attractive charts, models made the class more lively. The visit was not only memorable, but also taught us the lesson of love, compassion, and respect.

Social Visit to Kottarakara Thampuran Memorial Classical Kala Museum

 As per B.Ed. curriculum, we visit Kottarakara Thampuran Memorial Classical Kala Museum, Kottarkara on 27 November 2019. We reached by 2:30pm and almost got one hour to watch the whole museum. Koattraka Thampuran Museum of classical art is also known as Kottarkara Kathakali Museum. It was established at the birthplace of Kottarakra Thampuran. The museum started in 1983. There are five galleries in the museum -Hand gestures Gallery, Kathakali costumes Gallery, Coin Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Megalithic Gallery. The museum may be shifted to Veluthampy Dalava Museum, Mannadi in the future. I felt very proud while visiting the museum because it was from the same place where the great art form 'Kathakali' was born. These experiences created to continue a lifelong love for art.

Socially Useful Productive Work

 As per B.Ed. curriculum, we had chosen to soap making for Socially Useful Productive Work. The program was conducted on 4th October 2019. We were taught about the chemical used for soap making and how to make soap. We successfully made more than 40 soaps and kept it for service purposes. The experience we got through this program was very effective and immensely useful 

Art Education Workshop

 As part of B.Ed. curriculum, we conducted an art education workshop to prepare teaching-learning materials on 3 October 2019. Based on the subject of art and aesthetic education, each of us produced five materials. I made flowers with tissue paper, a flower with organdy cloth, bottle craft, a mat, and a teddy bear in a basket. Students from our class itself acted as a resource person for each item. Christy taught bottle craft, where Kripa taught flower making using tissue and organdy cloth. Ahalya taught to make a mat with saree. Jenna taught the class to make dolls with plastic bottles and cotton. The art education class allowed us to experiment to make mistakes and to learn from them and to experience on enriching environment tailored to our personality and interests as teacher trainees. We all felt comfortable enough to create meaningful artwork.

Sports Day 2019

Sports day was celebrated on 2nd October 2019. Sports club secretary Mekha welcomed everyone to the competition.  The day was inaugurated by Zacharia ramban, followed by his message. Chess and badminton were conducted. In badminton, men's doubles, women’s doubles, woman singles were conducted. All three houses participated in the games. Students who don’t participate in the games were either in the organizing committee or the refreshments committee. Devanand and I participated in men's doubles and got first. Overall our house got first. It was an exciting day for all students.
